My first blogaversary and a GIVEAWAY!

I am proud to report that today is the one year anniversary of my blog!  I cannot believe how quickly time has passed, and how much I have learned.  I have always loved to cook, but writing this blog has given me an outlet to share my creations and push me to try creating things outside of my comfort zone.  I’ve discovered so many wonderful inspiring bloggers, chefs and new friends in the online “foodie” community who push me to challenge myself everyday.

Sometimes this task can seem daunting, as I have so many ideas and so little time to share them all! (Come on people, I do have a full-time job!) This is in addition to the fact that anything relating to web design and food photography was absolutely foreign to me a year ago.  Actually, it’s all still pretty foreign, so maintaining and updating my site is a constant learning process!  That being said, one of my goals for this next year is to learn more about web design.

On the subject of goals, another one is to create more original recipes.  So as that happens, I would love to hear honest feedback from all of you fantastic readers!  I have received great support so far, and for that I sincerely thank all of you.

In honor of my one year blogaversary, I would like to offer a giveaway as a thank you!  I will giving one lucky reader a copy of James Peterson’s most recent cookbook, “Kitchen Simple”.  Peterson is the winner of six James Beard awards, and this cookbook is a nice change from his usual which tend to focus on one category.  This book has a little bit of everything!  I like it because there are simple recipes, as well as some things that are more suitable for weekend cooking.
